Observation of Profile Pits, Lot 22, Filing 2, Oak Meadows, 109 Oakland Knoll,
Garfield County, Colorado
As requested, a representative of Kumar & Associates, Inc. observed the profile pits within the
septic disposal area at the subject site on September 30, 2019 for soil type and to sample the soils
for laboratory testing. The services were performed in accordance with our agreement for
professional engineering services to you, dated September 26, 2019.
At the time of our visit to the site, two profile pits had been dug to a depth of about 8 feet below
the adjacent ground surface at the approximate locations shown on Figure 1. The logs of the pits
are shown on Figure 2. The soils exposed in the pits, below about 11/2 to 4 feet of topsoil,
consisted of clay loam with scattered gravel. The results of a gradation analysis performed on a
sample of the loam obtained from Pit 1 are presented on Figure 3. No free water was observed in
the pits and the soils were slightly moist.

2. THE LOCATIONS OF THE EXPLORATORY PITS WERE MEASURED APPROXIMATELY BY PACING FROM
FEATURES SHOWN ON THE SITE PLAN PROVIDED.
3. THE ELEVATIONS OF THE EXPLORATORY PITS WERE MEASURED BY HAND LEVEL AND REFER TO
PIT 1 AS ELEVATION 100', ASSUMED.
4. THE EXPLORATORY PIT LOCATIONS AND ELEVATIONS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ACCURATE ONLY
TO THE DEGREE IMPLIED BY THE METHOD USED.
5. THE LINES BETWEEN MATERIALS SHOWN ON THE EXPLORATORY PIT LOGS REPRESENT THE
APPROXIMATE BOUNDARIES BETWEEN MATERIAL TYPES AND THE TRANSITIONS MAY BE GRADUAL.
6. GROUNDWATER WAS NOT OBSERVED IN THE PITS AT THE TIME OF OUR SITE VISIT.
7. LABORATORY TEST RESULTS:
GRAVEL = PERCENT RETAINED ON NO. 10 SIEVE;
SAND = PERCENT PASSING NO. 10 SIEVE AND RETAINED ON NO. 325 SIEVE;
SILT = PERCENT PASSING NO. 325 SIEVE TO PARTICLE SIZE .002MM;
CLAY = PERCENT SMALLER THAN PARTICLE SIZE .002MM.
