Sacred Ground Excavation installed the system. The existing septic tank was pumped and the top, sides and bottom crushed and the remaining void filled with onsite soils. The existing soil treatment area (STA) was abandoned in place. A portion of the STA was encountered during excavation of the new STA. Prior to construction of the OWTS, one 8-foot deep soil profile pit (Test Pit) was excavated to determine soil type and verify soil type. No restricting conditions such as groundwater or bedrock were encountered. Soils below 3-feet were found to have greater than 50% rock and therefore are classified as Soil Type 0. With this verification, no changes to the proposed design were necessary. The exiting cast iron sewer line from the residence was replaced and a double sweep clean out was installed. The system installation included a 1500-gallon, two -compartment concrete Valley Precast septic tank with an Orenco® Biotube Pump Vault and an Orenco® PF5005 pump in the second compartment of the septic tank. The floats were set to dose approximately 80 gallons each pump cycle, allowing approximately 6 gallons of drain back after each pump cycle. The control panel for the pump is located within line of sight of the septic tank. Valley Precast out of Buena Vista performed start-up of the pumping system. Effluent is pressure dosed through a 1.5-inch diameter pump line to an over -excavated, 12' x 44' unlined sand filter with a minimum of 3-feet of sand filter material. Pipes used to disperse the effluent were surrounded by washed coarse screened gravel. The manifold was 1.5-inches in diameter. Laterals were 1.5-inches in diameter with 5/32-inch diameter orifice holes facing down, spaced 2-feet on center. Orenco® Orifice Shields were installed under the orifices. Laterals were separated by 3-feet. Each 1.5-inch diameter lateral ends in a sweeping ell facing up with a ball valve for flushing. A soil separation fabric was placed over the gravel layer followed by approximately 1-foot of topsoil. The OWTS was generally installed according to specifications. This observation is not a guarantee of workmanship and/or parts and materials. ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified if changes are made to the OWTS in the future. Any additional OWTS construction must be according to the county regulations. LIMITS: Observations are limited to components that are visible at the time of the inspection. The installer must have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements and regulations of the county in which they are working. The quality of the installation is dependent of the expertise of the installer, soil type, and weather conditions. Please call with questions. Sincerely, ALL SERVICE septic, LLC 60th Co_ Ov-6fut_s Carla Ostberg, MPH, REHS Over -excavation of the sand filter Reviewed By: Part of the existing STA was encountered. Do Your Part, Be SepticSmart: The Do's and Don'ts of Your Septic System Learn these simple steps to protect your home, health, environment and property value: septicsmart U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Do: • Have your system inspected (in general) every three years by a licensed contractor and have the tank pumped, when necessary, generally every three to five years. Don't: • Pour cooking grease or oil down the sink or toilet. • Rinse coffee grounds into the sink. • Pour household chemicals down the sink or flush them. Do: • Eliminate or limit the use of a garbage disposal. • Properly dispose of coffee grounds a food. • Put grease in a container to harden before discarding in the trash. Don't: • Flush non -degradable products or chemicals, such as feminine hygiene products, condoms, dental floss, diapers, cigarette butts, cat litter, paper towels, pharmaceuticals. Do: • Dispose of these items in the trash can! Don't: • Park or drive on your drainfield. The weight can damage the drain lines. • Plant trees or shrubs too close to your drainfield, roots can grow into your system and clog it. Do: • Consult a septic service professional to advise you of the proper distance for planting trees and shrubs, depending on your septic tank location. Don't • Concentrate your water use by using your dishwasher, shower, washing machine, and toilet at the same time. All that extra water can really strain your septic system. Do: • Stagger the use of water -generating appliances. This can be helpful especially if your system has not been pumped in a long time. • Become more water efficient by fixing plumbing leaks and consider installing bathroom and kitchen faucet aerators and water -efficient products.
