Site Investigation
Thursday, March 5, 2020, a backhoe excavator was used to dig an 8 -foot deep profile hole
near the proposed location of the Locke on-site wastewater treatment system (OWTS) soil
treatment area. The profile hole supplements a previous profile hole that was excavated near
the soil treatment area in early February, 2020. Graphic logs of both profile holes are shown
in the construction drawing for the OWTS. No standing water, nor evidence of previous
groundwater level, was encountered in either profile hole.
Percolation test locations were also prepared and presoaked on Thursday, March 5, 2020.
Percolation test holes were 8" in diameter and 12" deep below the presumed infiltrative
surface at 2' below ground level. Percolation tests were perfomed on Friday, March 6, 2020.
The percolation test data is tabulated on Sheet 2 of this document.
A survey of the subject property was performed by Bookcliff Survey Services in 2016. The
survey noted features of the property including existing wells, existing water spigots, and
property boundaries. The graphic portion of that survey's documentation is presented in the
construction drawing for the OWTS. Minimum clearances per GCR Table 7-1 are represented
on the construction drawing for features nearest the proposed OWTS.
According to Google Earth data, the property slopes east to west at approximately 6% in the
vicinity of the proposed OWTS.
