On November 6, 2020, we visited the site of your proposed residence to observe the installation
of a new OWTS installed on Tract 37 of the Antlers Orchard subdivision near Silt, Colorado. At the time of
our site visit, the contractor had installed the sewer line, a 1,250-gallon, two -compartment poly septic
tank, three concrete distribution boxes, effluent lines, and the Soil Treatment Area (STA). The STA
consisted of two gravity -fed chamber beds, each consisting of four rows of nine ARC 36 chambers (36
chambers, or 540 ft2 per bed for a total of 72 chambers or 1,080 ft2). The contractor had installed
inspection ports in the terminal end of each row of chambers. Additionally, thrust blocks had been
constructed at a 90° bend in the sewer line before the septic tank. The septic tank and distribution boxes
were set level with access to grade. An effluent filter was present in the outlet tee of the septic tank.
Subsequent to our site visit, we requested that inspection ports be installed at the beginning of the
outermost trenches of each bed, that a cleanout be installed on the uphill side of the 90° bend in the
sewer line, and that a cleanout also be installed adjacent to the house once the connection of the house
to the OWTS was made, The contractor provided photos of the requested items on November 20, 2020.
In our opinion, the OWTS components were installed in general conformance with Garfield County OWES
Regulations. No further action or review from Garfield County Environmental Health is required regarding
this permit. Please provide an As -Built drawing of the system, when available, for our files.
