On November 20, 2020, we visited the site of your proposed residence to observe the
installation of a new OWTS installed on Lot 5 of the Rapids on the Colorado subdivision near
New Castle, Colorado. At the time of our site visit, the owner had installed the sewer line, a
1,500-gallon, two -compartment concrete septic tank, a concrete distribution box, effluent lines,
and the Sal Treatment Area (STA). The STA consisted of four gravity -fed chamber trenches,
each consisting of eleven ARC 36 chambers (a total of 44 chambers for 660 ft2). The owner had
installed inspection ports at each end of each trench. The septic tank and distribution boxes
were set level with access to grade. An effluent filter was present in the outlet tee of the septic
tank. Additionally, the owner had installed an RV "dump station" that was plumbed into the inlet
side of the septic tank. The trenches were set level and to appropriate depths. All sewer and
effluent lines were constructed of Schedule 40 PVC. No further action or review from Garfield
County Environmental Health is required regarding this permit. Please provide an As -Built
drawing of the system, when available, for our files.
Thank you,
