The findings of our observations and recommendations for the foundation design are presented in this report. V/e previously conducted a subsoil study for design of foundations at the site and presented our findings in areport dated January 27,2020, ProjectNo. 18-7-255.01. The residence will be supported on a structural slab and about 3 feet of compacted structural fill imposing a maximum allowable bearing pressure of 1,500 psf. At the time of our visit to the site, the perimeter foundation trench excavation was mostly completed and had been cut in one level from 3 to 6 feet below the adjacent ground surface. The soils exposed in the bottom of the excavation consisted of sandy silt and clay. The floor slab area had been compacted and mainly consisted of the previously placed fill material encountered in the exploratory boring. No free water was encountered in the excavation and the soils were slightly moist. The soil conditions exposed in the excavation are consistent with those previously encountered on the site and suitable for support of stuctural slab foundation designed for the recommended allowable bearing pressure of 1,500 psf. Compacted structural fill consisting of %-inch road base is proposed to be placed below the perimeter foundation grade beam walls. The backfill material was tested for compaction with the acceptable results presented under separate cover. The onsite excavated soils are also suitable for use ar¡ structural fill. Other recommendations presented in our previous report which are applicable should also be observed. The recommendations submitted in this letter are based on our observation of the soils exposed within the foundation excavation and the previous subsurface exploration at the site. Variations in the subsurface conditions below the excavation could increase the risk of foundation movement. We should be advised of any variations encountered in the excavation conditions for Kendrick Development Jvne26,2020 Page2 possible changes to recommendations contained in this letter.
