Subject: The Smoke House Building Permit Application
The plans are well thought out and appear complete.
I started the review today and noted the following items:
1. Snowload for the roof is a Pf or flat roof snow load of 50 psf. The engineer shows a Ground or Pg of 50 psf which
is incorrect. This may affect both the roof and foundation design and is based on a published snowload for the
elevation over 7000ft.
2. Please verify what the header sizes are. Sheet 52.1 Wood Framing Note 7 differs from Sheet 2.2 Roof Framing
Note 3.
3. Please submit a 2nd set of drawing to the county and a set to the Glenwood Fire Dist. if you have not already.
4. Please verify the rise and run for the stairs on Sheet A7.0. Per section 1011.5, the minimum run is 11 inches and
the maximum rise is 7 inches. This may change the floor framing some.
That should get us started and possible we can redline any other items that might come up.
Thanks,
Andy Schwaller

Andy
Thanks for your quick response.
1. The ground snow load is 71 psf but since the flat roof snow load of 50 is unchanged there is no revision to the
drawings.
2. We will modify all headers to 3-2x10.
Thanks again and say hellow to Dave Argo.
