At the time of our site visit, the owner had installed a 1,060- gallon two compartment poly septic tank with an effluent filter in the outlet tee, the new sewer line connection between the existing 1,000-gallon single compartment septic tank and the new poly septic tank, distribution box, and the four chamber trenches. The tank and distribution box were installed level, with access brought to grade. The four chamber trenches consist of 14 ARC 36 chambers per trench, for 56 total chambers and a total Soil Treatment Area (STA) of 840 ft2. The original design specified 70 Infiltrator Quick4 chambers in four trenches for a total STA of 840 ft2. Since the chamber substitution results in an equal STA in the design, we do not have an objection to this change. At the time of our site visit, the contractor had backfilled the chamber trenches. We requested photographs of the installation, but due to a technical error through no fault of the contractor, the photographs that were taken during installation were lost. On February 16, 2021, we received a letter from the design engineer, signed and stamped by a professional engineer registered in the state of Colorado, stating that the installation was within compliance of Garfield County Regulations, and in general conformance with the design. We accept this letter as proof that the installation of the new OWTS is in compliance with Garfield County OWTS Regulations. No further action or review from Garfield County Environmental Health is required regarding this permit. Thank you, Edward R. "Ted" White, P.E.
