The waste flow from the existing residence has been served by an OWTS permitted at the time of county permit in 2008, under County ISDS permit No. 4419 to serve the existing 2-bedroom residence. This design is for the replacement of the older chamber trench system that is currently compromised due to assumed partially clogged soils. The system is exhibiting slower infiltrative capacity and reduced recovery, therefore in need of replacement. The existing functioning 1000 gallon two compartment concrete septic tank has been pumped a few times in recent years and is equipped with sanitary tees and concrete risers with lids installed at the surface. The upgrade design utifizes the existing tank with the addition of new 1000 gallon septic/dosing tank with high head pump biotube vault assembly to discharge to new full pressure dosed chamber trenches sized for 4-bedroom capacity usage. The two existing chamber trenches were installed approximately 6 feet below the surface and will be abandoned in place. The treatment capacity for the repiacement system is designed for a minimum 3-bedroom residence adequate for the existing 2-bedroom single family home that will provide additional ] capacity for additional usage as needed. From the Regulation 43 usage table: f Minimum population based on 2 person per bedroom for the first 3 bedrooms = 6 persons for a total of 6 persons usage. Gallons per day per person =75 gai/person/day, No peaking factor co Max. Design flaw (Qd)gallons/day = (# of people} x (avg. flow)gal/person/day. The sails in the proposed field envelope area were sampled and characterized by application of the USDA visual/tactile s0 texture method analysis. The SOILS below 12 inches of topsoil/fill material consist of medium dense clay loam soil with less than 2% scattered gravel or rock content to 7 feet below the surface grades. The soils appear to be consistent across the site from observations in the excavated profile pits. The native soils sampled from 2-3 feet below the surface are characterized as a soil type 3 Q ❑ CV a o consisting of clay loam texture with fine granular structure. This soil has an effective loading r rate for conventional soil treatment of 0,35 Gal/S.F./day for a levei 1 conventional treatment } system. The equivalent percolation rate is assumed to be 40-60 minutes per inch. No free water o7 was encountered in excavations on site. Seasonal high Groundwater levels are expected to be below 10 feet from the existing surface grades. The soils are suitable for a conventional shallow absorption field consisting of pressure dosed gravelless infiltration chamber units in a trench configuration. Treatment -Soil Treatment Unit/Absorption System Design- The treatment/absorption field is designed based an utilizing the effectiveLong Term rm Acceptance Rate (LTAR) for the native soils and the application of appropriate loading factors for a soil treatment unit system utilizing pressure distribution to full pressure dosed gravelless chamber trenches. The new treatment system and absorption field will consist of pressure dosed distribution of septic tank effluent via a high head pump assembly to individual chamber, trench custom perforated distribution laterals with treatment across the native coif absorptive surface below the placed leaching chambers. z 0 Long Term Acceptance Rate (LTAR) Considering the application of the state regulation 43: W Receiving Wastewater Treatment Level 1; Soil type 3 loading rate for a clay loam is (0.35 iY gal./5.F.jday).; Loading factors; (Table 10-2, pressured dosed trenches = 0.8) and (Table 10-3, Chambers Category 3 = 0.7) A(sf) = Qd x L.F,1 x L.F.2 .: A = Area; LIAR LTAR = 0.35 Gal/S.F./day for clay loam Qd = flow (gal/day) = 450 gpd L.F.1=0.8 full pressure dosed trenches Distribution L.F.2=0.7 Chambers Category 23 A(sf) = 525 gpd x 0.8 x 0.7 = 840 S.F. 0.35 Gal/S.F./day Number of Quick-4 Infiltrator chambers 4'x3'x12"chambers: 840 S,F = 70 infiltrator Quick-4 chambers; Use 72 chambers z 12 S.E./Chamber LU Number of 5'x3' Bio-Diffuser chambers: 700 S.F = 48 chambers; Use 48 chambers Z 15 S.F./Chamber Use 72 Quick-4 Infiltrator chambers in four trenches 74' long by 3' wide with 18 chambers 0units per trench plus two end caps as delineated on the plan or equivalent Bio-Diffuser chamber trenches.
