Returned Raymundo's phone call from remote work office.
August 2, 2021 Phone Discussion Notes:
1. Owner builder is constructed a COLD STORAGE only space intended for private residential storage only. No
commercial or business uses intended. Owner builder will install no plumbing, mechanical or electrical work in
the space. IF future conditioning, heating or alterations are planned, the owner builder agrees to first apply for
a new building permit for new work prior to commencing future installations. The only question the owner has
at this time is what is adequate depth for frost protection for COLD STORAGE building structure?
2. Colleen plans examiner needs to re -review the foundation details for BENCOMO building application BLRE-06-
21-6921 during next physical trip to Glenwood Springs office. Blueprints are in Colleen's office space. Once
back in the office, will continue redlining and processing administrative paperwork and fee schedules to allow
for release of the building permit.

STEEL STORAGE BUILDING
Hello Raymundo,
I am reviewing your building application and plans for new 24 ft x 50 ft pre-engineered
steel storage building and have a few questions:
1. Will the building be used for private residential storage / garage uses only?
2. Is it true, the building is not intended for use as a commercial business
operation, nor for use by any hired employees or the general public?
3. Do you intend to install insulation and space heating and/or cooling in the steel
storage building?
4. Will this be a "cold storage" only building?
5. For your awareness the locally required frost depth for footing / foundation
system is minimum 36 inches depth.
6. In event you are proposing to modify the structural engineer's foundation to a
"shallow foundation system", then additional insulation and heating details
MAY be required to ensure the building is adequately protected from frost /
heave / movement.
7. Will there be any plumbing, mechanical or electrical equipment or fuel fired
appliances installed in the storage building?
8. Will there be any propane, wood, or pellet stoves installed in the storage
building?
Please respond to questions at your earliest convenience, I look forward to receiving the
information as it will allow us to finish the review for your project.
