The owner woutd like to have the current building permitamended to allow for this "outñi¡da"¡;. lncluded with this letter is a set of drawings from the Yurt manufacturer that outlines the designparamıter of the structure itself'SGM has reviewed the structure and find that it meets Garfield County requirements with two upgradesrequired and two sets of code compliant stairs'1. The structure is founded on helical piers. Based on the soil properties and torque apRlied to the piersduring ínstallation, the helical piers themselves are adequate for both live and dead loading llus wind'The connection rrom the steel helical pier to the double 2x10 floor beams in not adequate. sGM hasprovided an imprweo helical pier to flbor beam design for an improved connection (see attacheddrawing - SK-1).Z. SGM recommends that an additional mid span support be added to the perimeter beams. This midspan support wi¡l be a 4x4 post founded on a 16" ôquare concrete pad with a Simpson posUbeamconnection instal led per S impson recommendations'3. Access stairs (two sets) meeting the 2015 IBC commercialcode.The owner intends to extend electrical service to the Yurt structure.
