The findings of our observations and recommendations are presented in this report. The services are supplement¿l to our agreement for geotechnical engineering services to you dated l:[l.Íay 12,2021. We previously prepared a subsoil study for desígn of foundations at.the site and presented our findings in a report dated JuIy 14,2021, Project No. 21-7-441. The residence will be a single story wood frame structure over crawlspace with an attached slab-on-grade garage. Spread footings designed for an allowable soil bearing pressure of 2,000 psf were recommended for foundation support of the building. At the time of ow site visit, the foundation excavation which was essentially complete had been cut in one level from about 3%to 5 feet below the adjacent ground surface. The soils exposed in the bottom of the excavation consisted of relatively dense, siþ clayey sandy gravel with cobbles. The results of a gradation analysis performed on a sample of disturbed bulk sample of the soils (minus 3-inch fraction) obtained from the site are presented on Figure 1. No free water was encountered in the excavation and the soils were slightly moist. The soil conditions exposed in the excavation are consistent with those previously encountered on the site and suitable for support of spread footings designed for the recoflrmended allowable bearing pressure of 2,000 psf. Loose and disturbed soils should be removed in the footing areas to expose the undisturbed natural granular soils, and the subgrade moistened and compacted. Other recommendations presented in our previous report which are applicable should also be observed. The recommendations submitted in this letter are based on our observation of the soils exposed within the foundation excavation and the previous subsurface exploration at the site. Variations in the subsurface conditions below the excavation could increase the risk of foundation movement. S/e should be advised of any variations encountered in the excavation conditions for possible changes to recommendations contained in this letter. Russell Cartvyright Nôvcmber 2,2021 Page2 .
