The systemrequires installation by a NICET ll level installer. Your design professional will submit plans for review with the permit application. Some considerations:1.. A síngle family home fire sprinkler system shall meet the requirements of NFPA-13D. These systems need only provide protection to theaccessible/livable space of the home, primarily to provide egress safety in the event of a fire.2. ln my interpretation of NFPA-13D requirements, this means that garage spaces do not need to be protected unless the garage provides egress from theliving spaces. However, YOU SHOULD CHECK WITH YOUR INSURANCE PROVIDER to make sure that they do not requíre garages to have sprinklers in asprinkleredresidencebeforeplansaredrafted. Keepinmindthatifthegarageissprinklered, adequateheatingmustbeprovidedinordertopreventsystem freezing.3. An external Fire Department Connection (FDC) is not required for an NFPA-13D residential system wíthin the Glenwood Springs Fire District.4. An external Fire Alarm Horn & Strobe lS required to be connected to the sprinkler system. This alarm will sound with an active sprinkler water flow, butdoes not require off-site monitoring. Newer systems may allow for owner smart-phone monitoring, just as security alarms allow.Greg Bak <greg.bak@cogs.us>Tuesday, March 1,2022 4:48 PMColleen WirthFW: [External] 1015 Hìdden Valley Drive - Permit #BLRE-02-22-73246¿RE-¿2-zZZAzF
