We performed site visits on two occasions with the purpose of providing an open hole observation of the foundation soils for the foundation and secondly to observe the construction and formwork for foundation modifications coordinated with the contractor that deviated from our proposed plans for construction. The first observations were of the footing formwork, reinforcing and open hole observation while second was for the stem wall formwork and reínforcing, For the first observations, performed on 5/28/21, we were able to confirm that the soil conditions were as anticipated for the design of the foundation system. For the second observations, performed on June 30, 202L, the formwork and reinforcing were evaluated to confirm the modifications to the design for a mid height #4 bar installation in the stem wall in lieu of a #5 bar. Likewise, the provísion of perimeter 24' long hooks into the slab from the stem wall for the foundation were provided to provide thrust resistance to horizontal loading thus removing the requirement of the isolated haírpin installation requirement at the main frame columns. This modification also allowed the resolution of the contractor not locating footings D, E and F per our original design. With the observations and modificatíons, we concur with the construction provided Upon your receipt and review, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me Respectfully, S.
