On Septemb er 2, 2021 , we visited your property on Lot I , Stirling Ranch PUD, at I 002
Skipper Drive, Carbondale, CO 81623, in Garfield County, Colorado.'lhe purpose of our site
visits was to select an area on the property l'or the proposed Soil Treatment Area. During the site
visit, your excavator Ryan lvy, dug two profile holes.
The OWTS is for a proposed 3-bedroom residence. It will consist of a 1O00-gallons,
three-companments concrete septic tank by Valley Precast with an effluent filter, and an Orenco
Pump assembly, and the Soil Treatment Area will consist of 60 Quick 4 Plus, Standard Infiltrator
Chambers in a bed configuration with a 3-foot sand filter and pressure dosing.
The site plan by Amos Underwood, PBR Workshop, and the information provided during
our telephone conversation today with you, were used as basis for the septic system design.
Directions to the site from the Carbondale exit on CO-82 are as follows: continue East on CO-82
for 3.8 mi to Catherine Store Road, turn left on Catherine Store Road, continue for 2.3 mi turn
right on Co Rd I 02, right on La Casita Road, right on Skipper l)rive, continue to the end of the
road. The lot is accessed via access easement west from the Skipper Drive cul-de-sac.
Prelim inary Investigation

n Existing Structures: There were no existing structures on lhe lot.
n Location of existing and proposed wells on properfy: There are no wells
on the property. It is services by public water,
! Garfield County Environmental Health Department records: There were
no old record. The properly was vacanl.
Topography: The topography of the leacffield site is moderate with an
overage slope of about I to 2 percent. Draínage is to the west.

!Soil Data: The proJìle holes were observed an August 10, 2021. The soil
exposed in the profile holes was asþllows:

A soil sample takenfrom Profile Hole I at 4B-inches was classified as
Type 3, LTAR:0.35 gpd/sf CLAY LOAM, Due to large boulders and
cobbles in ProJìle hole 2, 3 feet deep sandfilter and pressure distribution
is recommended.

Reconnaissance
¡ Landscape position: The proposed STA will be located in the
Summit/Shoulder Slope Position northwest from the proposed residence
(down gradient)
n Topography: The topography o.f the proposed leachJìeld site is relatively
flat. The rows of infiltrators in the bed will run along the contours.
¡ Vegetation: The vegetøtion within the proposed leachfield site consisted of
sparce wild grass, cacti, sage brush and juniper trees. There were also
basalt rocks on the surface. The site surrounding lhe leachfield was
similar.
! Natural and cultural features: According to the Stirling Ranch Website:
"The ranch is located on a high mesa overlooking the Roaring Fork
Valley called Missouri IIeights. Missouri Heights was settled back in the
I800's by ranching pioneers, They planted potatoes, hay, wheat, ulfalfa
and barley, and raised beef cattle and sheep. Thst is still the case Jitr a
few ranche.s today. The plateau is dotted by old potato cellars and school
houses. The historic Missouri Heights Schoolhouse, neqr Stirling Ranch's
entrance, hosts meetings and events."
