The findings of our observatious and recommendations fcrr the foundation design are presented in this report. We previously conducted a subsoil study fr:r design of foundations at the site and presented our findings in a report dated J*ne 6, 201 8, Project No. 18-?-3û0. The proposed residence will be a one-story wood frame structure ov€r a walkout basement level witlr an attached garuge Foundations were designed fbr an allowable soil bearing pressure of 2,000 psf. At the tirne of our visit to the site, the foundation excavation had been cut in five levels from 1 to 11 feet below the adjacent ground surface. The soils exposed in the bottom of the excavation oonsisted of about moistened and compacted, ó to 8 inches t>f 3/¿-inchroad base ovedying the basalt rocks in a graveily sandy silt matrix. No fi'ee water was cneountered in the excavation and the natural soils, below the ccrnpacted road base were slightiy moist. The soil conditions exposed in the excavation are consistent with those previously encountered on the site and suitable for support of spread firotings designecl firr the recoinmended allowable bearing pressure of 2,û0û psf. Loose and disturbed soils should be removed in the footing areas to expose the undisturbed natural soils. Other recolnnendaticns presented in our previous report which are applicable should also be abserved. The recomrnendations subrnitted in this letier are based on our observation of the soils exposed within the foundation excavation and the previous limited subsurface explaration at the site. Variations in the subsurface conditions below the excavation eoulcl increase the risk of foundation movernent. V/e should be advised of any variations encountered in the excavation conditions lbr possible changes to recomrnendations contained in this ietter.
