Hello Ryan,
RE: WALLACE building application at 70 Cutbow Ln.
We understand and accept creation of a FIRE AREA SEPARATION WALL as the owner's preferred desígn method in lieu of
installing a fíre suppressíon system.
Ryan, no further action steps or deliverables are required from RM Construction at this time.
We will process and accept the FIRE AREA SEPARATION WALL ASSEMBLY DETAIL as DEFERRED SUBMITTAL DOCUMENTS
AT TRAMING INSPECTION.
Only one FIRE AREA SEPARATION WALL is required.
The general contractor, subcontractors and property owner may mutually discuss and determine the desired fíre area
separation wall locatíon.
After discussions with John Plano, Chief Building Official, I do want to point out that locating the fire area separation wall
between the primary dwelling and the attached garage - may allow owner more latitude to further add to residential
square footage on the main residential side of the fire wall in future without triggering fire suppression requirements
(than creatíng the fire wall between the garage breezeway and supplemental líving space. Other factors to consider are
where current/ future occupants wish to see installatíon of a 90-minute fire door (aesthetics) and choosíng the fire
barrier location with least impact on mechanical ductwork penetrations andfor dampers.
Hope this helps, agaín, below is STAMP we will affix to your approved OFFICE AND FIELD COPY OF PRINTS and
incorporate in the attached CONDITIONS OF PERMIT page.

Mechanícol duetwork penetrotÍng the fíre borrier shqll be protected by fire^rated

Have illustrated the assembly via highlighted wall assemblíes on a floor plan PLUS building section detail of the wall
assemblies. I think the 90- minute door can be referenced on the floor plan wíthout REVISING the separate DOOR
schedule page.
I will continue moving your project forward. There are some adminístrative steps to occur by our able Community
Development Technician staff. Please be patient and WAIT for a call from the front desk once the permit documents
and permlt ínvoices are made ready.
