Hi Brent,
Whatever findings you and/or the geotechnical engineer develop from actual síte conditions, please share that
information with your Structural Engineer, Dale Kaup. We will need to receive correspondence from Dale Kaup
Structural Engineer of Record. Send Structural Engineer's confirmed design criteria for soil bearing and/or foundation
design detail and/or corrections c/o cwirth@earfield-countv.com AND DO cc: John Plano, Chief Building Official,
iplano@sarfiel d-cou ntv.com.
We are seeking re-affirmation Dale's foundation design stands at 3,000 psf soil bearing capacity (or provide amended
foundation desígn details as may be appropríate). lf Dale's details stand same at 3,000 psf, then Garfield County will
expect LKP geotechnícal engíneers open hole soils report presented at time of footing inspection to verify soil bearing
capacity at 3,000 psf or hígher.
My schedule: I am working in Glenwood Springs today, working remotely tomorrow; Community Development office
closed --no inspectíons on Friday Nov LL Veterans Day - and scheduled out Nov 1,4-17. I plan to return to work on
Friday November 18. I will hold the KUSCHNER blueprints and building file folder BLRE-10-22-7873 on my desk, and cc:
John Plano so he is in the loop in my absence.

Thanks Coleen, I have already picked up a grading permít. lt's my belief that we will likely have to blast. I have the
excavator goíng in tomorrow to prove or disprove that theory. We will know a lot more after that. There is very little soil
present at the surface, with mostly rock at the surface in the entire footprint of the building. Thanks Again Brent

Reading through Luíza Petrovska's report dated June 29, 2022 {job 22-3628} she names a lower soíl bearing capacíty of

revíew.
