Photos of your inspection concerns, emailed on 3-30-2023,were reviewed. Comments
are as follows:
1. Please replace the 3-2x6 columns on the Grid H window wall with 3-5.5" LVL's
and add the 435's, as specified in the drawings.
2. Crawl Space Pads:
Pad#l: See Item 3 below.
Pad#2: Appears adequate.
Pad #3: Add A35's, beam to post on opposite sides (3 total)
Pad#4: The end grain of the scab plate will wick moisture. Replace with
treated material; add 435's from post to flat plate. Attach the treated plate to the
concrete with (2) /+" expansion bolts (1.5" embedment).
Pad#5: Appears adequate.
Pad #6: Add another set of longer flat 2x6's near center of pad; attach
beam to the flat plates with 435's, each side; attach the treated plates to the
concrete with (2) Y+" expansion bolts (1.5" embedment).
Pad#7: Photo not provided.
Pad #8: Appears adequate.
Pad#9: Assuming the flat plate is present and only covered in snow, the
connection appears adequate, except, add 435's, scab plate to flat plate on one
side.
Pad #10: Appears adequate.
Pad #ll - #14: Photos not provided.
3. Pad#l cold joint: Spread the point load out across the pad by adding two more
sets of flat 2-2x6's (and O.S.B. shims). Provide a positive connection by attaching
at least one set with (2) 1/4" expansion bolts (1.5" embedment) into the concrete
and 435's from the beam to the flat 2x6's. The other two sets shall have A35's at
the beam to lock them in place.
