Gorrections to address prior to issuinq a building permit:
The County Records indicate this building was originally constructed as fully sprinkled Type
V One-Hour Construction. This is equivalent to Type VA in the 2015 IBC that is adopted
today. The Occupancy Group is an A-3 Occupancy. All additions/alterations are to comply
with the provisions for the Occupancy Group and Type of Construction the building was
originally built to.
1 A1 - ln Type VB Construction all structural members are to be protected by one-hour
construction. The walls and roof of the new addition are required to one-hour fire-resistive
Please revise the details to reflect one-hour exterior walls and one-hour roof. (lBC Table
601)
2 This building is fully sprinkled which will require the addition to be sprinkled as well. Please
add notes to the drawings accordingly. (IEBC 1 102.3)
3 The door between the Cold Storage and the Sanctuary does not comply with the
maneuvering clearances on the Cold Storage Side. Please see the pictorialfrom the ANSI
A.117 .1.
4 The doors are not labeled. I am assuming the door from the Sanctuary to the Storage is a
new door. lf it is an existing door, I will need a floor plan of the Sanctuary to verify egress is
still compliant. Please make note regarding if the door is new or existing.
