The attached permit application is to replace the existing septic system for 3903 CR 24I, New Castle CO
This location is a separate ADU building associated with parcel 212306L00t92 (listed as building #2).
Currently the building is being serviced with a small concrete septic tank and minimal leach field that
was installed in the range of 40-50 years ago. The intent is to update the service for the 2-bedroom
home and add an RV hookup for limited usage. To account for the RV an added bedroom was added in
the permit application.
A new septic tank will be installed adjacent to the existing tank in the yard area approximately 20 feet
from the home. This will connect to a new leach field approximately 100 ft away from the septic tank.
Location of the leach field and septictank are chosen such that allthe added infrastructure is outside of
existing easements and topographical concerns. The septic tank will be approximately 70' from the well
location and septic field would be more than 150 feet from the well that services both homes on the
parcel. Septic Leach field will be approximately 200 feet from East Elk Creek, Below is a blown up area of
the plans for more details on the location of the new system.

Soil Report for Proposed Septic Leach Field for Adams ADU
The soil test pit was field verified on December 5,2021 with no snow on the ground. The
location is in their lower field, approximately 130 feet from an agricultural ditch and 215 feet from
East Elk Creek. The field width from the bottom of the field to the drop off to the irrigation ditch
and creek is about 100 feet. The proposed leach field location is within the current setbacks as
noted is Table 7-1 in Resolution No 2018-36 A Resolution Concerned with the Amendment of
Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (OWTS) Regulations.

Cindy Adams is the homeowner and an environmental consultant. Cindy has worked in
environmental consulting for over 15 years throughout Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, North Dakota,
and South Dakota. She graduated from the University of Denver with a B.S. in Environmental
Science and a Masters of Business Administration. Cindy has a wide breath of skills and
experience in environmental permitting, environmental assessments, reclamation planning and
monitoring, pre-disturbance assessments, wetland delineation, aquatic resource inventories,
noxious weed mapping, grant writing, Phase 1 environmental site assessments, and
threatened/endangered plant and habitat surveys. She has managed a wide variety of projects
for the private and public sectors. Cindy is on the Garfield County Noxious Weed Advisory
Board.
Adams ADU Septic Design - By Daniel Adams, Owner
The Adams ADU septic replacement is designed to support the exiting 2-bedroom home and add 1 RV /
camper septic connection (added as an additional bedroom). Soils in the leach field area are clay loam /
sandy loam and treated as a type 3 soil. A treatment level of 0.35 gallons per square foot has been used
for this soil type and 450 gallons per day as the daily wastewater generation.
The proposed system is to install a new L250-gallon tank adjacent to the exiting tank. This will connect to
a new leach field with 3' width channels utilizing leach field chambers (0.7 discount for using leach field
chambers) for a total length of 300' (3 - 100' leach field trenches in parallel). They will be installed with
drainage going from north to south (top of photo to bottom) to minimize impact to existing uses of the
field area.
Overview of design and existing tanks are show in the photo below, Blue is the current tank and leach
field. Yellow is the proposed new septic tank location and orange in the proposed leach field location.
Locations have been selected to work with setback from existing infrastructure and easements in place.
