Subject: Eshelman building permit extension for ADU
Hi John,
You were very gracious to me, granting me an extension on my building permit for my ADU due to some serious
health issues that I was experiencing. I met the deadline for that expiration by completing my septic system and
getting it inspected by the GARCO health department. Or so I thought. As I spoke to Jessica about that, she
informed me, that that did not count as an actual building inspection. It was my fault for assuming that it would
count. I have started digging my foundation, and in fact, got my engineer to look at the soil and provide
documentation as per the building department requirement. I am not quite finished the dig, but as soon as I am, I will
be getting ready to start building forms for the footings. I will then have my surveyor locate the corners also as per
the GARCO building permit requirement. I plan to call for an inspection just as soon as I get my forms up and ready
to pour. That should be quite soon. I apologize for my lack of knowledge and my assumption. I am very much
hoping that this oversight on my part will not hinder the valid status of my permit. I appreciate the fact that you have
been extremely patient with me. Please do not hesitate to notify me if there’s anything that I need to do other than to
call for an inspection as soon as I’m ready.
