OWTS Permit #: SEPT‐7159
January 16, 2024
Jean and Tony,
On November 1, 2022, we visited the residence under construction at 565 Faranhyll Ranch Road near Glenwood
Springs in Garfield County, Colorado to observe the OWTS installation pursuant to OWTS Permit # SEPT‐7159. At
the time of our site visit, the contractor had installed the new sewer line, the new cleanouts adjacent to the
buildings, a new 1,500‐gallon two‐compartment septic tank with an effluent filter in the outlet tee of the tank
followed by a 500‐gallon pump chamber with a pump in the pump chamber, the new pump line, the Automatic
Distribution Valve, and four of the six chamber trenches. The contractor submitted photos and videos of the
installation of the final two chamber trenches after our site visit. The septic tank and pump chamber were installed
level with access brought to grade. The chamber bed trenches were level, and consisted of 22 Infiltrator Quick4
chambers per trench, for 132 total chambers (1,584 ft2). Additionally, inspection ports were present at each end of
each trench. The distribution laterals ended in a sweeping 90‐degree bend facing up with a ball valve to allow
flushing of the laterals. On May 24, 2023, we received a system startup letter from Valley Precast and pictures of
the pump controls panel. On October 7, 2023, we received a final inspection letter from the OWTS designer noting
deviations from the original design, but that the designer did not “take issue” with the deviations. Finally, on
January 5, 2024, we received an as‐built drawing of the system from the OWTS designer. In our opinion, this
system was installed in general conformance with Garfield County OWTS Regulations. No further action or review
from Garfield County Environmental Health is required regarding this permit.
Thank you,
