For this reason, Garfield County Public Health staff were unable to observe the installation of the replacement septic tank at 3125 County Road 241 near New Castle in person. The installer and property owner provided information and photographs documenting the installation of the replacement tank for the residence after applying for OWTS Permit # SEPT-8527 and paying the appropriate fee. As indicated in the photographs, the contractor had installed a new cleanout adjacent to the residence and a new 1,500-gallon two- compartment San Luis Valley Precast septic tank with an effluent filter in the outlet tee of the tank. The septic tank is found on the approved list of septic tanks by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and appeared to be installed level with access brought to grade. In our opinion, this tank was installed in general conformance with Garfield County OWTS Regulations. No further action or review from Garfield County Environmental Health is required regarding this permit. Thank you, Edward R. “Ted” White, P.E.
