PLEASE REFERENCE FIRE AREA SEPARATION STAMP BELOW AND ARCHITECTURAL SHEET AO4 FIRE WALL DETAIL: Fire Area Separation Wall: ln lieu of the Fire Sprinkler System requirement, o "Fire Borrier" may be used to separate or compartmentalize the building into smaller sized fire areas (2O75 l.B.C., Sectlan 707). Specific requlrements include the followlng: A. 2-Hour Flre-Rated Assenblv-Thefire barrier must comply with o 2-hour rated assembly os approved by a recognized llsting agency, lncludlng (2) Iayers of 5/8" Type X drywoll at both sides of wood-frame wolls (1.8.C., Table 7O7.3.70). B, ConCinuitv - The fire barrier shall ertend from top of foundotion up to bottam of roof sheothing. Except as noted below for penetrotions, the Z-hour fire-roting at the fire barrier shall not be compromised over its entire length ond height. C. Penetrqtions throueh Firc Barrier - Doors ond door ossemblies located in the fire barrler, shall provide a 9o-minute fire rating wlth automatic ctosing device. Mechanical ductwork penetroting the fire borrier shall be protected by fire-roted dampers lnstalled in such monner os to ollow for regular inspections, servlce & mointenance.
