Area has been subexcavated to 18" below planned bottom of footing. Soils exposed at the bottom of the excavation consist of sandy to silty clays, with occasional gravel and cobbles. The soils exposed are consistent with our geotechnical investigation, report No. GS06693.000-125, dated August 22,2022. We judge the excavation as appropriate for placement of structural fill. The earthwork contractor is placing an imported fill material consisting of silty sand with gravel and cobbles that has been processed to a 4- inch minus. The material is being placed and moisture conditioned with a loader and skidsteer in 8" loose lifts. Compactive effort was applied with a a large steel-drum vibratory compactor.
