Buitding on the legacy of DensDeck @ Roof Board, DensDeck @ Prime Roof Board offers even more strength with enhanced moisture resistance for adhered roofing assemblies. Fo[ow these instructions to instatl DensDeck@ Roof Boards and DensDeck@ Prime Roof Boards on any building in need of tough roofing defence. Always wear personaI protective equipment (PPE) when working on construction projects to prevent onsite hazard. Tools Needed . Knife, . Cutting gloves. . Measuring tape. . Straight edge or T-square and/or chatk tine , Appropriate equipment to appty adhesive or instal[ fasteners, per design and system man uf acturer specif ication. Storage 1 Remove pLastic packaging immediate[y upon receipt. (Any protective, plastic factory packaging that is used to wrap DensDeck@ Roof Boards / DensDeck@ Prime Roof Boards for shipment is intended to provide onty temporary protection from moisture exposure during transit and is not intended to provide protection during storage after detivery.) 2 Store boards outside, level and off the ground. Protect with a waterproof covering. 3 Provide means for air circulation around and under stored bund[es. 4 Use adequate supports to keep the bundles ftat, tevel and dry. Score atong mark and snap to break ctean, then use a sharp knife to cut the back mat. 2 Carry the DensDeck@ Roof Board / DensDeck@ Prime Roof Board in an upright position. Laying the Board 1 For a cover board application, lay the board down in a running bond pattern, offsetting the roof board joints from the underlying insutation joints. 2 Butt atl board edges and ends tightty together.* 3 When added to a structuraI metaI deck in a roof board apptication, support the edges by instalting the edge joints on and paral[e[ to the top ftutes. *DensDeck@' Roof Boards / DensDeck@ Prime Roof Boards of any thickness do not require gapping. Fastening 1 Refer to system manufacturer and FM Gtobat requirements for fastener type and spacing, or adhesive insta[[ation requirements. 2 Grid marks on the board are 150 mm (6 inch) on centre as a reference guide for the instalLer. Transition from Roof to Wall 1 For a parapet wa[t, instatt DensDeck@ Prime Roof Board directty to the framing per specification and code requirements. 2 lf the parapet kicker or cant strip is attached to the parapet watl framing, instatt the DensDeck@ Prime Roof Board over a solid substrate, rather than directty onto the stanted wall. / roof f raming. Faiture to adhere to such recommendations and timitations may void the timited warranty provided by Georgia-Pacific Gypsum for DensDeck@ Roof Board / DensDeckc' Prime Roof Board. 2 Protect DensDeck@ Roof Board / DensDeck@ Prime Roof Board from moisture before, during and after instatlation, Atthough DensDeck@ Roof Boards / DensDeck@ Prime Roof Boards are engineered with fibergtass facings and high-density gypsum cores, the presence of moisture can have a detrimentaI effect on the performance of the product and the instatlation of roofing membranes. 3 Georgia-Pacific Gypsum does not warrant and does not provide specifications nor instructions for any specif ic assembly or system using DensDeck@ Roof Boards / DensDeck@ Prime Roof Boards or any component in such assemblies or systems other than DensDeck@ Roof Board / DensDeck@ Prime Roof Board. 4 Consutt with the appropriate system manufacturer and/or design authority for system specifications and instructions and for specific instructions for apptying other products to DensDecko Roof Board / DensDeck@ Prime Roof Board.
