LVLs shall be Microllam 1.9E with flexural stress Fb = 2,600 psi or approved equal. When multiple LVL's are called out, use typical nailing and bolting as follows unless noted otherwise: 2 LVL's use 2 rows of 16d sinkers @ 12" O.C.; 3 LVL's use 3 rows of 16d sinkers @ 12" O.C.; 4 LVL's use ½" Dia through bolts 2 rows @ 24" O.C. staggered. 2.Sawn lumber shall be pressure treated for decay and shall be Doug Fir #2 (DF#2) or better. Screws shall be Timberlok or LogHog as indicated per plan or equal with prior approval of the Engineer. Screws shall be hot-dip galvanized per ASTM A15. Bolts shall be hot dip galvanized per ASTM A153 class D up to 3/8" diameter, class C for greater than 3/8", or stainless steel. Hangers shall be ASTM A653 type G185 zinc coated galvanized steel or hot dip galvanized per ASTM A123. 3.Steel connectors shall be manufactured by Simpson Company or approved equal. Unless noted otherwise, hangers to join rafters, joists or beams at flush conditions shall be U or HU designation of the full dimension of the framing member. 4.If lag bolts are used as an alternative to screws where permitted per plan, lag bolts shall be lead drilled for threads per NDS standards and clearance drilled for the unthreaded shank portion. FOUNDATIONS 1.The structure has been designed to bear on a compacted base course using the values stated under the "General" section opposite based on the subsurface study by Kumar & Associates, Inc. dated April 29, 2024 (job number 24-7-258) All construction shall be in conformance with the recommendations of the soils report. 2.Remove any existing topsoil, fill and any loose and disturbed soils at the railroad tie wall bearing level. All railroad tie walls shall be placed on a compacted base course per the Geotechnical Engineer's recommendations. 3.Reinforcing steel shall be high strength deformed bars in compliance with ASTM A-615. Yield strength (Fy) shall be 60 ksi. GENERAL NOTES LEGEND AND SHEET INDEX AS NOTED 05/07/24 Permit & Constr.
