Subject: Adding Shade Structure over an existing deck
Richard,
I need a site ptan, preferab[y a survey, or ILC to verify the existing deck is outside the buil.ding setbacks
As you can see by Tabte 3-2}2that a deck Less than 30" above grade can be in a setback, a roof/shade
structure is not a11owed in a setback. The photo betow is not accurate but shows the concern.
lf you find the existing deck is outside the 15' rear setback, I need a few things.
. Wiil, this shade structure have a roof over the 4x6 rafters? The photo exampte provided appears to
have a covering over the rafters.
. physical. verification of the existing pier construction. Dig next to one to provide what's below
grade.
. provide a detait how the new posts wil,t be anchored to the existing piers.
. provide a tedger detait showing how the new shade structure is fastened to the home with a
fl,ashing detait.
. ptease provide verification that the new windows compty with the current 2018 lnternational
Energy Conservation Code (IECC), U30 insu[ation vatue minimum.
Pl,ease let me know how you woutd I'ike to proceed
