At the conclusion of our final site visit, the contractor had installed the new sewer line and cleanout adjacent to the residence, the new concrete 1,500-gallon two-compartment septic tank with a pump in the second chamber, the new pump line, and the unlined sand filter bed. The septic tank was installed level with access brought to grade. The unlined sand filter bed measured 12 feet x 67.5 feet and was constructed with 2 feet of secondary sand material (810 ft2 total STA). The distribution laterals ended with a valve accessible from grade to allow flushing of the laterals. Additionally, inspection ports were present at each corner of the bed. We received an as-built drawing of the constructed system and a letter certifying that the system was constructed in compliance with the permitted design from the OWTS designer dated September 11, 2023. In our opinion, this system was installed in general conformance with Garfield County OWTS Regulations. No further action or review from Garfield County Environmental Health is required regarding this permit. Thank you, Edward R. “Ted” White, P.E.
