OWTS Permit #: SEPT-7688
October 7, 2024
On February 26 and March 1, 2024, we visited the site of the residence under construction at
2488 Highway 133 near Carbondale in Garfield County, Colorado to observe the OWTS
installation pursuant to OWTS Permit # SEPT-7688. At the conclusion of our final site visit, the
contractor had installed the new sewer line and cleanout adjacent to the residence, the new
concrete 1,500-gallon two-compartment septic tank with a pump in the second chamber, the
new pump line, and the unlined sand filter bed. The septic tank was installed level with access
brought to grade. The unlined sand filter bed measured 12 feet x 67.5 feet and was constructed
with 2 feet of secondary sand material (810 ft2 total STA). The distribution laterals ended with a
valve accessible from grade to allow flushing of the laterals. Additionally, inspection ports were
present at each corner of the bed. We received an as-built drawing of the constructed system
and a letter certifying that the system was constructed in compliance with the permitted design
from the OWTS designer dated September 11, 2023. In our opinion, this system was installed in
general conformance with Garfield County OWTS Regulations. No further action or review from
Garfield County Environmental Health is required regarding this permit.
