Using the minimum loading requirements specified in the 2021 International Building Code to determine the adequacy of the 6” floor slab with #4 rebar at 24” o.c. each way, having a compression strength of 4000 psi. The maximum wall section loaded is at the 4’-0” section supporting floor and the stair stringer. The slab located below the maximum loaded wall section is sufficient in supporting the applied load. The slab is also sufficient to distribute the load to the soil below assuming a distribution load angle of 45°. Note: - Loading: 2021 IBC Vult = 115mph Importance Factor = 1 Internal Pressure Coeff. = +0.18 / -0.18 Loads: Floor: Dead = 50psf Live = 50psf Wall: Dead = 12psf Soils: Maximum Allowable Soil Bearing Pressure = 3000 psf (per soils report) - Seal applies to the slab adequacy below bearing walls ONLY . Engineering & Technical Services, Inc. is not responsible for any construction or design that is not listed in the letter above. The design is only adequate for the parameters and loading listed above, and may not be used for any other projects unless approved by Engineering & Technical Services, Inc. Our engineers are available for further consultation as may be required. With regards, Joe Elmer, E.I.T. Engineering & Technical Services Duane D. Boice, PE Engineering & Technical Services
