Jimmy,
The last inspection was on 3/11/24, Sept 7th would have been 180 days from then to
show progress. An additional extension will be from Sept 7th extending it until March 6th
2025.
I see no problem allowing the extension based on your situation.
We are not charging for the extension…
Good luck with the guard and handrail!

Good Evening, John,
I stopped by the County yesterday to talk with you about the status of our building permit and the
front desk recommended I email you directly.
As you know, my wife Lorra and I began our deck project back in 2017. Our permit expired many
years ago, but the County was kind enough to reinstate it on March 11, 2024.
We have been working on getting the railing up since March but still have both sets of stairs and
landings to finish. We ordered all the lumber for the stairs/landings from Valley Lumber and it
should be delivered next week. Here is a hyperlink to a video my wife took of our progress:

The one problem we have run into is that Outcast Powderz in Parachute that we used to powder
coat the spindles went out of business. They have our spindle material and so now we’re
communicating with the old owner of the company to get the spindles back or powder coated. We
have not heard back from him yet and so we may need to look for another powder coat company.
Our goal is to be completely done with the deck project by the end of 2024, but given the setbacks
we run into (and sometimes our physical health setbacks), would the County please consider
extending our permit for yet another six months? If so, please let me know and I will come in and
pay for the extension.
Thank you,
Jimmy
