Inspection notes and details
On October 23rd 2024 a visual inspection of structural stee was performed.
Structural steel was verified to be of proper size and in good condition.
Mill certifications were supplied by the erector and it was verified that structural W shapes
conformed to ASTM A-992. Plates and angles conformed to ASTM A-29. HSS shapes
conformed to ASTM-500 Grade B.
Structural Bolts were observed to be in proper condition and conformed to ASTM- A-307
Welder certifications were verified to be up to date for SMAW 2G and 3G.
A visual inspection of welds after welding was performed on all beams and columns and
observed to meet AWS D1.1 standards
Faying surfaces of all bolted connections were observed to be in proper snug tight condition.
It was noted that structural steel shop drawings specified interior steel to be primed but
interior steel on the lower level was not primed. On November 1st a letter from the producer
of the shop drawings was received that verified the requirement specified on the drawings
was in error and not required by the engineer of record and the non primed condition meets
AISC 10.1 paint requirement standards.
