As requested, bolting special inspection was conducted per the IBC 2018
Edition - Chapter 17: Structural Tests and Special Inspection and Garfield County
requirements. I arrived on -site at 10:45 AM. I met with you to review the material to be
inspected and project requirements.
High strength bolt inspection was conducted at this new residence according to
the on -site plans supplied by TK Engineering Consultants, LLC. I observed all bolts on
the ground, 1I-t , and 2"d floors. I observed all bolts to be 3/4"' ASTM A325 Plain Body
bolts fitted with hardened flat washer properly positioned under the turning surface of a
heavy hex bolt. Those bolts that were not sheared off due to issues such as clearance
were checked for tightness with a wrench. Upon completion, I observed all bolts to be in
compliance with project specifications and the inspection criteria of the American
Institute of Steel Construction (RISC) and the Research Council on Structural
Connections (RCSC).
