This memo is in response to the Garfield County Building lnspector's "Correction Notice" from Jan. 12,
2024.
l. Relative to squash block requirements: I reviewed all locations rvhere squash blocks are required with
the lead framer. Note that in the future our office will flag all squash block locations on the framing plans.
2. I understand that the installation requirements specified on the structural documents for the gable end
trusses have been completed.
3. At corners where the top plates were interrupted I recommended an additional stud be installed and
nailed to the top plate and the adjacent 'corner stud.' I understand that these studs have been installed.
4. Relative to the timber trusses at the entry and rear patio, see attached to this memo truss details
specifuing the installation of addition threaded rods or 'thru bolts.'
5. Relative to the interior steel column supporting the girder truss at the upper roof (the girder truss is 7 ft.
from the south wall): the steel column was installed without a column cap. See attached repair detail.
6. The balancs of the framing is complete and is constructed in accordance with the structural documents.
