The ceiling framing consists of two different configura ons noted below: 2x6 joists at 16”o.c. spanning 11’-0” · Full depth 2x blocking was installed at center-span of joists. · End connections consisted of (3) toenail connection to 2x6 ledger with full depth 2x pressure blocking in between each joist. Pressure blocking was connected to ledger with (6) facenails per block. · 2x6 ledger connections were as follows: o Ledger is attached to 2x6 vertical packouts on bottom chord of pre-engineered metal truss. Connection of ledger to packouts was not visible due to pressure blocking. It is assumed that connection points are at 24”o.c. and that packouts are adequately attached to the web of the bottom chord of the truss. o Ledger is attached to 2x furring wall studs. Connection of ledger to studs was not visible due to pressure blocking. It is assumed that connections points are at each stud; 16”o.c. 2x8 joists at 16”o.c. spanning 13’-0” · Full depth 2x blocking was installed at center-span of joists. · End connections consisted of (3) toenail connection to 2x8 header spanning 11’-0” with full depth 2x pressure blocking in between each joist. Pressure blocking was connected to ledger with (6) facenails per block. · 2x8 header connections at each end were only visible at some locations and varied. Box 1577, Basalt, CO 81621 | 206-910-7766 | steve@mountaintowncg.com www.MountainTownCG.com Criteria: The following loading criteria was assumed for all ceiling framing. No fy S.E.O.R. if otherwise: Final Dead Load on ceiling framing will consist of 5/8” gypsum wall board and light mechanical systems (<=6.5psf) for a Total Dead Load <= 10psf No Live Load was assumed Analysis and Conclusions: The 2x6 ceiling joists were found to be adequate as built. The 2x8 ceiling joists were found to be adequate as built. The 2x6 ledgers were found to be adequate as built assuming: · There is a minimum (3) 10d connection at 24”o.c. - into solid framing or · There is a minimum (2) 10d connection at 16”o.c. - into solid framing. The 2x8 x 11’-0” headers were found to be adequate. Please provide the following end connec ons: · An A35 Simpson clip, or equivalent, shall be installed on each end of the 2x8 headers into solid framing. Please feel free to contact our office should addi onal input on this maDer be required. Sincerely, MTCG Structural Heidi L. Hendricks Steven R. Edmiston, P.E. S.E.
