CONSTRUCTION OBSERVATION REPORT
Client: D.M. Neuman Construction
Attn: Jason Neuman
P.O. Box 2317
Glenwood Springs, Colorado 81602
Project No.: 18-7-692.A Day: Monday
Date: 12/9/19
Page: 1 of 1
Project: Proposed Garage, 2808 Four Mile Road (County Road 117), Near Bottom of Bershenyi
Dip, Garfield County, Colorado
Weather: Cloudy, calm, light snow Temperature: 330F at 10:35 am
Construction Activities Observed: In preparation for interior under slab backfill placement, D.M.
Neuman Construction was starting to screen excavated stockpiled
soil to remove roots, limbs and over size rock. Imported -3" base
course reportedly from Sievers pit and pit run gravel reportedly
from the Gould Airport Storage site had been stockpiled on site to
be blended with the screened on site material for the under slab
backfill.
Equipment in Use: 3.5" grizzly screen, 1" rotating screen attachment on skid steer
loader, loader, excavator
Kumar's Site Activities: As requested, met with Jason Neuman and Alex with D.M. NeumanT
and observed stockpiled materials and screening operation. It was
proposed to blend the materials to make suitable interior under
slab backfill material. Based on observation of the stockpiles, we
recommended that rock larger than 6 inches be removed from the
pit run material and a 1 to 1 blend by volume of either imported
material and the on site screened material. We obtained large bulk
samples of the 2 proposed 1 to 1 blended materials and submitted
them to our lab for classification and standard Proctor tests. The
laboratory test results are attached.
Verbal Communication: Jason Neuman and Alex with D.M. Neuman Construction.
