Thank you for selecting Park Industries for the purchase of your new machine. We
are sure that you are eager to get this equipment into operation in your facility. This
Installation Preparation Guide will take you through the process of getting your
facility ready for having your new machine installed. Please deliver this guide to the
person in charge of the installation at your shop and have them call your Installation
Coordinator at their earliest convenience. The Installation Coordinator will walk
them through the information in this guide as it relates to your specifi c shop.
As you go through this guide, you will fi nd information that you should share with
the contractors who are helping you prepare for installation. It is recommended
that copies of these sections be made for your contractors use so this guide may
remain intact. Please call your installation coordinator with any questions you or
your contractor may have.
The installer’s airline tickets are purchased 2 weeks in advance, so it is important that
we maintain good communication during this process. If everything is completed on
time, the shipping and installation will remain as scheduled, and you will avoid any
possible extra fees.
It is also important to carefully read the warranty policy that was sent with the sales

times allows, he may choose to visit work site to confirm
customer readiness.
Day 2:
• Confirm System layout.
• Inventory System components.
• Level Tower that was positioned by riggers during unload.
• Make all System connections.
• Plumber connects output of pump skid to site’s equipment
supply.
Note: Facility water may have to be shutoff to make this
connection.
• Electrician makes connections.

Important Points!
The slurry pit has two primary functions:
1. Enable the slurry pump to effectively capture the majority of settling solids prior to them contacting
the bottom of the pit and forming dense sludge films which are not easily removed without agitation.
Settling solids within the slurry pit’s water column are captured by the slurry pump. If the pits depth is
too shallow, less time elapses prior to the pump being able to capture these settling solids. For this
reason, a minimum slurry pit depth of five feet is recommended. Also noteworthy here is the slurry
pit’s footprint. The slurry pit’s footprint should be as square as possible. A square pit enhances the
slurry pump’s ability to capture settling solids. Excessively long pits will result in sludge buildup due to
the pump not being able to draw slurry in from the excessive distance.
2. Able to contain the clarifier’s volume should it be emptied for cleaning or maintenance. Clarifier
volumes are shown in the chart below for your reference when constructing a slurry pit.
Slurry Pit Construction:
Slurry pits can be of several different forms. However, certain geometries can be more advantageous than
others. Below are three common forms arranged in increasing beneficial order:

HydroClear Installation Preparation Guide
Slurry Pit Sources:
ALL sources draining into the slurry pit should be screened to prevent debris (e.g. ear plugs, paper, slab
tags, towels) from entering the pit and damaging the slurry pump or causing issues with the remainder of the
recycling system. Some examples of screens are:
Recycled water plumbing lines:
The water transferred by the re-pressurization pump to equipment should travel first through a main line
before branching to individual equipment supply lines. Use of a larger water main pipe will reduce friction
head as seen by the pump as it carries the shops total flow of recycled water. In most cases, a two inch
mainline branching to one inch supply lines is more than sufficient for supplying 0-125 GPM . The main pipe
should run as far as possible in this branch system. Line height and distance to machines also play a role in
determining pipe sizes as well as necessary pump performance.
This example shows
underground lines
draining into the pit.

Foundation and Floor Requirements
• Excavating:
Excavation shall be sufficiently made so that work rests on virgin soil which has a bearing capacity of
2,000 psf minimum.
• Filling and compacting:
Fill materials to be placed and compacted in horizontal layers not exceeding 8” thick.
No compacted fill shall be placed in free water or on frozen ground.
Compact each layer to 95% modified proctor.
• Concrete:
All concrete to be ready mixed and shall be of 3,000 psi, 28 day strength and per specs on machine
foundation prints. This machine requires minimum full 4” concrete floor (6” recommended) with re-bar
reinforcement. Control joints or relief cuts are acceptable but no random cracks.
• Curing:
Foundation shall be moist cured with polyethylene sheet for five days.
NOTICE
***All concrete must be cured for 28 days!!***
The customer is responsible for any movement of equipment
incurred during curing time if the equipment is installed prior to
the 28 day cure period.

Water Clarification System Overview
A water clarification/settling system contains four major elements:
• Slurry pump moves dirty water from a pit to the clarification components.
• Clarification components remove the solids from the dirty water. Sub systems in this process include
polymer feed, sludge handling and level floats.
• Transfer tank holds clean water from the clarification components.
• Pump skid pressurizes clean water for distribution to site equipment.

HydroClear Installation Preparation Guide
Park Industries HydroClear Systems
Park Industries offers four water clarification/settling systems.
OPTIONS NOTES:
• In all systems, the slurry pump, transfer tank and pump skid are options.
• All models have the option for a short install for low clearances - in these
installs the sledge skid would be located next to the clarification tower instead
of under it.
• Model 80, ideal for a small shop, has a capacity of 60 gallons per minute. System components
include: clarification tower, small sludge skid, 5 sledge bags, polymer feed pump, automatic purge
valve, polymer feed tank, floats, sludge control panel, and 5 gallons of polymer.
• Model 90, ideal for a medium shop, has a capacity of 90 gallons per minute. System components
include: clarification tower, sledge skid, 5 sludge bags, polymer feed pump, automatic purge
valve, polymer feed tank, floats, sludge control panel, and 5 gallons of polymer.
• Model 100, ideal for a medium/large shop, has a capacity of 120 gallons per minute. System
components include: clarification tower, two sludge skids, 10 sledge bags, polymer feed pump,
automatic purge valve, polymer feed tank, floats, sludge control panel, and 5 gallons of polymer.
