Soil Handling Procedures a. Topsoil Salvage and Storage: o Strip and stockpile on-site topsoil (typically top 6" to 8") before grading begins. Stockpiles will be located outside of drainage paths and within limits of disturbance, and stabilized with temporary seed and erosion control blanket if left for >90 days. a a Stockpile heights will not exceed 8 feet to minimize compaction b. Reapplication of Topsoil: After grading and final contouring, topsoil will be reapplied at a minimum of 4 inches depth across all non-hardscape disturbed areas. c. Erosion and Dust Gontrol: During grading and prior to vegetation establishment, install silt fencing, check dams, and dust control (e.9., water trucks). a Reapply seed and mulch immediately following finalgrading to minimize wind/water erosion. a a . 2. Noxious Weed Management Plan a. Site lnventory & Monitoring: a Before seeding, visually inspect the site for Gounty-listed noxious weeds (e.9., Canada thistle, yellow toadflax). a Mark and document infested zones on a site plan b. Treatment Strategy: . Pre-treatment with spot herbicide application (by licensed applicator) prior to grading . Post-reclamation, monitor the site semi-annually for 2 years. . Control re-emergent weeds with mowing, hand removal, ortargeted herbicide treatment. c. Compliance: r Weed control will follow Garfield County Vegetation lUlanagement guidance and treatment logs will be kept on file for inspections. o 3. Planting Schedule & Species List a. Application Method: r Drill seed on slopes <3:1; hydroseed or broadcast seed on steeper areas o Mulch with certified weed-free straw at 2 tons/acre. . Crimp mulch or tackifier will be used for wind-prone areas. c.
