HomeMy WebLinkAboutOWTS Sizing CommentsMike Gamba to me, Ernesto Good Afternoon Brad, We've completed our analysis of the proposed building expansion as it relates to the OWTS. For the purpose of clarification, the original OWTS was designed based on an occupancy in the building of 6 full-time (8-hour shift) employees. lt is our understanding that the building expansion would increase that occupancy to a total of 12 full time employees. Based on this we've determined the following: L. The size of the original 1000 gallon septic tank that was installed will adequately meet all applicable regulations and standards for the increased occupancy. ln other words, in will NOT be necessary to increase the septic tank capacity in order to accommodate the increased occupancy. 2. The size of the U nlined Sa nd Filter Bed will need to be increased. The original Sa nd Filter Bed as designed and constructed has a total area of L08 square feet. In order to accommodate the increased occupancy, the sand filter bed will need to be increased to a minimum total area of 180 square feet, not including a Factor of Safety. A reasonable Factor of Safety would suggest a minimum total area of 216 square feet, or basically a doubling of the size of the existing bed. Thu,Feb 27, 3:48 PM (16 hours ago)
