ECOS Environmental & Disaster Restoration (ECOS) was contracted to conduct an asbestos inspection
at the above referenced location to determine'if there is asbestos containing building material
(ACBM), in building materials located in the modular home of the property for a proposed
demorition. Th" irrf?.uor, *u, performed in accordance with the standards of Practice of the Colorado
Regulation g part g'in effect at the time of this hrspection._This inspection is not intended to be
technically exhaustive. The inspection include, ali accessible building materials in the affected location;
however, should urry ualitiorrut buildingmaterials b1 discovered during demolition' those materials
must be sampled and. anaryzed prior to lontinuing with the work. Twenty-six (26) samples were
collected of the ,.rrf"*o:*riat, as listed in the iab Data Table located on Page 10 of this report'
The Inspector has prepared this written Asbestos Lespection Report for the sole use and benefit o{ the
client. The asbestos inspection rePort shall identlty,ripott,and make recommendations for future

ECOS collected, bulk sampres, in a random and representative marlner, of the homogenous afeas as
determined by the abovelnamed Inspecto t, muP'A/state of Colorado Certified Asbestos Building
Inspector. A simpri{ied sampring ""}i"*" was utirized as described in EpA pink book table 2. samples
were collected by using wet techniques to minimize damage to the suspect asbestos containing
bu'ding materiar lacilvry and subiequent fiber release- Tf,""u wet methods may entail wetting the
surface of the materiar to be sampled withwater mist from a spraybottre orcontained using a plastic
bag. The sample container is preised tightly against the surface of thu material bei'g sampled and with
a twisting motion, the sampler is slowl| drha {to }he material for couection. The container is then
labeled with a "r.iq"" ,"*pr" ID number and marked on the sampling Area Diagram. The Inspector
creans thetoors *j"q.rip-"r,a, fotowing colection of each sample to minimize cross-contamination
between sample eollecting. The hrspector"assumes materials in inaccessible locations were homogenous
to those in accessible locations, to limit disturbance during the sampling process' Alt samples were
placed in sealed,labeled containers, with sampre descripdons and rocations were fecorded. samples
were delivered under a chain of custody for analysis to approved lab'
performance of this asbestos inspection is intended to reduce, but not eliminate, uncertainty regarding
the presence of AGBM in connection with the above referenced property. No guarantee is expressed or

local govemment enaty charged with issuing a permitjor actions such as demolition,
renorr"ation, remodeling or repair work under applicable State or local laws'

The asbestos suwey shall, at a minimum, identify and assess with due diligence, the locations,
quantities, friabillty,and conditions of all building material Tpes lt th" affected area of the building or
structure. The certified asbestos building inspectoi is responsible for identification and assessment of
all types of materials within the affected area of the building or structure'
All building materials visually assessed shall be assumed to be asbestos containing building materials
(ACBM).rriuu, bulk sampling is conducted as per standard EPA and osFIA accepted methodologies'
The subsequent analysi, i" puiforrned by a laboratory with the requirements and analyses, which
satisfy uotn co sTAtE ELAP and Federal regulations. This includes multi- layered sample analyses to
document non-asbestos containing material'
The asbestos survey shall also include the building or structure nalne, address, the owner's name and
address, or the name and address of the owner's agent, the name of the firm performing the asbestos
survey and a copy of the firm's current asbestos tranahng license. In additioru the names of the certified
inspector(s1 periorming the survey, a copy of their "uo"nt individual asbestos handling certificate, the
dates of the asbestos ,riouy, a listing of hbmogeneous areas identifying which ones are ACBM, all
laboratory analysis reports for bulk-samples ci'llected, and copies of the appropriate certifications for
the laboritory used for analysis of samples taken during the asbestos survey.

\Atrhen any construction activrty such as d.emolitiory remodeling, renovation or repair work reveals
suspect ACBM not identified in the asbestos survey, or has not been identified by oSHA or EPA
,"qliru*"nts, all activities shall cease in the area where the suspect ACBM is found' Unassessed
suspect ACBM shall be assumed, treated, and handled as ACBM, unless proven otherwise by standard
EpA and. OSHA accepted methods. To document non-asbestos containing material' analysis must be
performed by a laboratory with the requirements and analysis which satisfy both Co STATE ELAP and
Federal regrrlations.

If the asbestos survey finds asbestos containing building material (ACBM) in the area of the building or
structure to be d.emolished., renovated, remodJled, or hive repair work' the owner or the owner's agent
shalr conduct, an Asbestos Abatement fer:forme d.by alicensed General Asbestos Contractor (GAc) in
accordance with all standards set forth'
All building or structure owners and GACs on a demolition, renovatiorL remodeling, or repair proiect

An asbestos abatement in a single-Family Residentiar Dwerling (SFRD) ress than 32 square feet, 50

In public and commercial Buildings, the trigger levels are 160 square feet,260linear feet on pipes, or
the volume equivalent of a 5S-gallon drum'
In school buildings, any amount of damage to or removal of ACBM to greater than 3 square feet or 3
rinear feet on pipes must be handled in aiordance with the Colorado Regulation 8 and AHERA
regulations.

Asbestos Containing Material (ACM): material containing more than 1% asbestos-
Asbestos Containing BuildingMaterial (ACBM): means surfacing ACM, thermal system
insulation ACM, or miscellaneous ACM found in or on interior structural members or other
part of a school building or state building'
Asbestos: A generic name given to several naturally occurring hydrated T":.ul silicates possessing a
unique .ryrtulliou structurJ. They are incombustible in air and are separable into fibers. Asbestos
includes the asbestiform varieties of chrysotile, crocidolite, amosite (cummingtonite-grunerite),
anthophyllite, tremolite and actinolite.
Asbestos Abatement: procedures to control fiber release frorn asbestos material. This includes
removal, encapsulation, enclosure, repair, and disturbance of friable asbestos or any handling of
asbestos mateiial that may result in the release of asbestos fibers.
Asbestos consulting Firm (ACF)t any person who performs or offers to perform any of the following
activities, as requireJ by Regulation & Fart B, in the state of Colorado: asbestos building inspection and
bulk sampling,beveloi*""i of asbestos management plans, air monitoring for asbestos fibers,
development of asbestos project designs, and project management.
Asbestos Laboratory: any person who performs or offers to perform asbestos analysis of bulk or air
samples as requiredby Regulation 8, Part B in the state of Colorado'
Asbestos Spill: any release of asbestos fibers due to a breach of the containment barrier or an
abatement project, or due to any cause other than asbestos abatement'
Assessment: an evaluation of the condition of ACM or ACBM, or suspected ACM or ACBM, which
determines the need for a response action-
Building Owner: The person in whom legal title to the premises is vested unless the premises are held
in land f,ust, inwhich instance building o:wner means the person inwhombeneficial title is vested.
Certified: hold,ing a certificate issued pursuant to this regulation'
Emergency: An unexpected situation or sudden occurrence of a serious and urgent mattet which
demand immediate action and constitutes a threat to life, health or may cause major damage to a
property. Delay of a contract does not constitute an emergency, nor are-demolition projects

Major Asbestos spill: an asbestos spill involving the disturbance of friable ACM in an amount gteater

Minor Asbestos spill: an asbestos spilt involving the d'isturbance of ACM in an amount less than or
equal to the trigger levels.
Miscellaneous Material - building material on components, structural members or fixtures,
such as floor and ceiling tiles, andtoes not incrude surfacing material or thermal system
insulation.
Nonfriable: material which, when dry,maynot be crumbled,pdverized' or reduced to
powder by hand pressure. Damaged nonfriable material or nonfriable materials in poor
condition maY become friable.

Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM): An optical microscopic technique used to distinguish between
different typir of asbestos-frbers by their shape and unique optical properties'

Thermal system Insulation (TSI) - material applied to pipes, flttingg, boilers, breeching'
tanks, ducts, or other interior structural components to prevent heat loss or gain' or water
condensation, or for ottrer purposes'
Transmission Electron Microscopy fiEM): an analytical technique used-{or the definitive
identification of asbestos. This technique can be used for both air and bulks sample analyses as allowed
by this regulation.
Trigger Levels: The minimum amounts of ACBM required to trigger the state and osFIA
