General Remarks:
As requested, a site visit was made to observe the soils exposed at bottom of excavation. The contractor has completed
excavation and has recompacted soil loosened during the excavation process. Soils exposed at the bottom of excavation
consist of sandy clay, and is consistent with the soils encountered during our geotechnical investigation, CTL|T report
GS06773.000120, dated August 9, 2023. We judge the excavation as appropriate for placement of required thickness of
structural fill per our geotechnical report.

Remarks
A: Test results comply with specifications.
Comments
Tests are "Direct Transmission" (Method A) unless probe depth is noted as
"Backscatter". Gauge calibration data on file with the testing agency.
2: As requested we made site visit to test the native structural backfill
materials for the over excavation. We observed crews had placed
about a one foot lift in the excavation. Crews informed us they used
both the wheeled skid steer to wheel compact and a walk behind
sheep's foot roller to achieve compactive effort. Our observations
indicated that moisture content and compactive effort was sufficient.
Passing nuclear density gauge tests confirmed our opinion.
This report presents opinions formed as a result of our observations of fill placement and the test results shown above. Test data are not the sole basis for
opinions whether the fill meets project specifications. The contractor is responsible to apply necessary compaction effort and moisture to comply with project
specifications. Our test results, observations and opinions do not constitute acceptance of the work.

4: As requested, a site visit was made to test the native structural
backfill materials. Upon arriving on site we observed crews had
placed another approximately 1' tall lift in the excavation. During our
site visit no compactive effort was observed, however we observed
the area looked like it had been compacted with the walk behind

compactive effort and moisture content were sufficient.

7: As, requested we made a site visit to test the native structural
backfill material being placed in the sub excavation. Upon arriving
onsite we observed areas with large ruts and areas the looked
uncompacted. Nuclear density gauge tests confirmed our opinion that
the area was insufficiently moisture conditioned and compacted. We
notified the contractor that our recommendation would be to
recondition the top 1' of material and recompact the area.
Reinspection is required.

10: As requested, a site visit was made to reinspect failing native

observed that the area appeared to have been reworked. Contractor
stated that they wheel rolled with the loader onsite, however we did
not observe any moisture conditioning or compactive effort while
