project.
2. See "Revised Permit" drawings for crawl space access framing.

5. What is your chosen ENERGY COMPLIANCE PATH for the ADU?
5.a. Are you building in accordance with the PRESCRIPTIVE PATH and the 2018 IECC Table
R402.1.2? If so, provide a statement in writing. The proposed heating system for the
subject structure consists of a 2-18,000 BTU, 208/230-volt mini -split condenser, which
provides adequate capacity to serve the combined conditioned floor area up to 2,000
square feet. The design and associated equipment selection are in compliance with the
2018 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC).
5.b. Are you building in accordance with the PRESCRIPTIVE PATH using a RESCHECK
REPORT? If so, provide a statement in writing along with your RESCHECK REPORT.
5.c. Are you building in accordance with the PERFORMANCE PATH using a HERS RATER
AND HERS RATER REPORT(S)? If so, provide a statement in writing, your HERS Rater
contact information and report.
5.d. What proposed window / door fenestration U-factors are you proposing to install? No
U-factor readily found on DS sheet window / door schedule, thank you.
5.e. Do you have any air -sealing details to include in the FIELD COPY for sealing openings
along the thermal envelope, as found at framing joints, windows / doors / electrical /
mechanical penetrations?
(The handwritten R-value floor wall ceiling sections are helpful and appreciated, but more `
Limited in air -sealing details. Garfield County Climate Zone 513 now requires new build
homes to have a `blower door'test performed during construction. We are striving to aid in
alleviatingtoo much leakage. Where further information available, please include in your
response or resubmission plan materials, thank you!)
Pursuant to Garfield County requirements, the project is evaluated under Climate Zone 5.
The buildingthermal envelope meets or exceeds the prescriptive insulation requirements
of the 2018 IECC, as outlined below:
Ceilings: R-49
Above -Grade Exterior Walls: R-20
Floors: R-30
Crawlspace: R-19
