On July 25, 2024, we visited the site of the building under construction at 1660 County Road 259 near
Rifle in Garfield County, Colorado to observe the OWTS installation pursuant to OWTS Permit # SEPT-
8529 for a new garage and Accessory Dwelling Unit. The system was designed by Huddleston-Berry
Engineering & Testing, LLC. and installed by Wiseland Construction. We received an as-built drawing of
the constructed system and a letter certifying that the system was constructed in compliance with the
permitted design from the OWTS designer dated August 23, 2024.
During our inspection, we observed the new concrete 1,000-gallon two-compartment septic tank with an
effluent filter in the outlet tee of the second compartment of the tank, the new effluent line, the new
distribution box, and the Soil Treatment Area (STA). The septic tank and distribution box were installed
level with access brought to grade. The STA consists of a 12 feet wide by 44 feet long, four row
gravelless chamber bed. Each row consists of 11 Quick4 chambers per row (44 chambers total, 528 ft2
total STA). The owner provided photographs showing the new cleanout adjacent to the building and the
sewer line, constructed of Schedule 40 PVC below the driveway, after to our site visit. Additionally,
inspection ports were present at each corner of the bed.
As required by Garfield County OWTS Regulation Section 43.4.F.3, based on our final inspection
observations, this OWTS was installed according to the permit requirements and regulations.
