On February 13, 2020, we visited the residence at 286 Willow Lane near Carbondale in Garfield County,
Colorado to observe the OWTS installation pursuant to OWTS Permit # SEPT-5928. The system was
designed by All Service Septic and installed by Hagist Excavation. We received an as-built drawing of
the constructed system and a letter certifying that the system was constructed in compliance with the
permitted design from the OWTS designer dated April 22, 2020.
During our inspection, we observed the new sewer line and cleanout adjacent to the residence, the new
concrete 2,000-gallon two-compartment septic tank housing a high-head Orenco pump package in the
second compartment of the tank, the new pump line, and the Soil Treatment Area (STA). The septic tank
was installed level with access brought to grade. The STA consisted of one 12 feet by 70.5 feet by 3-foot-
deep pressure-dosed unlined sand filter constructed with secondary sand media (846 ft2 total STA). The
bed contained 3 distribution laterals constructed of 1.5-inch diameter Schedule 40 PVC with 5/32-inch
diameter orifices every 3-feet on center, facing down with splash guards, placed in washed gravel. The
distribution laterals ended in a 90-degree sweeping bend facing up, fitted with a ball valve to allow
flushing of the laterals. Additionally, inspection ports were present at each corner of the bed.
As required by Garfield County OWTS Regulation Section 43.4.F.3, based on our final inspection
observations, this OWTS was installed according to the permit requirements and regulations.
