OWTS Permit #: SEPT-9002
December 18, 2025
On July 29, 2025, we visited the site of the residence under construction at 874 County Road 223 near Silt
in Garfield County, Colorado to observe the OWTS installation pursuant to OWTS Permit # SEPT-9002.
The system was designed by CBO, Inc. and installed by Randy Long. We received an as-built drawing of
the constructed system and a letter certifying that the system was constructed in compliance with the
permitted design from the OWTS designer dated October 17, 2025.
During our inspection, we observed photos of the new backfilled sewer lines and cleanouts adjacent to the
buildings, as well as the new concrete 1,500-gallon two-compartment septic tank. We also observed the
high-head Orenco pump package in the second compartment of the tank, the new pump line, the new
automatic distributing valve, and the Soil Treatment Area (STA). The septic tank and automatic
distributing valve were installed level with access brought to grade. The STA consisted of three gravelless
chamber trenches with 14 Infiltrator Quick4 Low Profile chambers per trench (42 total chambers, 504 ft 2
total STA). Each of the three trenches contained a distribution lateral constructed of 1.5-inch diameter
Schedule 40 PVC with 5/32-inch diameter orifices every 3-feet on center, facing up, with the first and last
orifices facing down for drainage with orifice shields. The distribution laterals ended in a 90-degree
sweeping bend facing up, fitted with a ball valve to allow flushing of the laterals. On August 7, 2025, we
received confirmation that all deficient items from the final inspection had been resolved: the required
inlet tees, an additional sewer line cleanout, and inspection ports at each end of each trench had been
installed.
As required by Garfield County OWTS Regulation Section 43.4.F.3, based on our final inspection
observations, this OWTS was installed according to the permit requirements and regulations.
