On May 30, 2024, and November 20, 2024, we visited the site of the commercial building under
construction at 6762 HWY 82 near Glenwood Springs in Garfield County, Colorado to observe the
OWTS installation pursuant to OWTS Permit # SEPT-8107. The system was designed by CBO, Inc. and
installed by Finishing Touch Dirtworx. We received an as-built drawing of the constructed system and a
letter certifying that the system was constructed in compliance with the permitted design from the OWTS
designer dated January 13, 2026.
During our inspections, we observed the new sewer lines and cleanouts adjacent to the residence, the new
concrete 1,000-gallon two-compartment septic tank with a high-head Orenco pump package in the second
compartment of the tank, the new pump line, and the Soil Treatment Area (STA). The septic tank was
installed level. The STA consisted of a 12 feet by 37 feet by 2-foot-deep pressure-dosed unlined sand
filter bed constructed with secondary sand media (438 ft 2 total STA). The bed consisted of 3 distribution
laterals constructed of 1.5-inch diameter Schedule 40 PVC with 5/32-inch diameter orifices every 3-feet
on center, facing down, placed in washed gravel. The distribution laterals ended in a 90-degree sweeping
bend facing up, fitted with a ball valve to allow flushing of the laterals. Additionally, inspection ports
were present at each corner of the bed. On January 7, 2026, we received confirmation of tank access
being brought to grade, proper control panel installation, pump wiring, and functioning audio and visual
alarms.
As required by Garfield County OWTS Regulation Section 43.4.F.3, based on our final inspection
observations, this OWTS was installed according to the permit requirements and regulations.
