Septic Inspection Report
Date: November 20, 2025
Permit #: 1683
Address: 353 E Vista Dr., Silt, CO
System Details:
• System designed for a 3-bedroom home
• 1,000-gallon concrete two-compartment septic tank. The county records state that this is a 1,250 gallon
septic tank, but the distance (5’) between the lids indicates a 1,000 gallon septic tank. Only once in our
time have we seen a 1,250 gallon septic tank with the lid measurements of 5 feet.
• Leach field: 1,166 square feet of infiltrative area
• Final approval date: June 8, 1989
Inspection Findings:
• Septic tank is deteriorated and needs to be replaced. We are able to see dirt around the outlet side of the
tank which shows that the tank is not watertight.
• Lids are to the surface and easily accessible.
• The risers are functioning but also showing their age with some deterioration.
• Unable to verify if there is an inlet tee, but we were able to see that the outlet tee is not present.
• We were unable to locate any inspection ports on the leach field. We walked around the area where we
assume the leach field would be located and found it to be dry, indicating proper drainage and no signs
of leach field failure.
Overall Condition:
• The septic system is aged, though at this time appears to be functioning.
Recommendations:
• Replace the septic tank.
• Schedule the next septic tank pumping within one year to maintain system efficiency.
• Avoid excessive water usage and do not drive or park vehicles over the leach field area.
