As requested, we have been engaged to provide structural engineering services for the proposed remodel at the above
residence. We understand that the current planned scope of the remodel includes changes to interior spaces and walls on
both the main and upper levels. We anticipate little or no changes to the foundation or roof framing systems.
Once the work can begin, the existing finishes shall be removed to allow observation of the existing structural systems. We
shall be contacted to visually observe the existing conditions, and we will then evaluate the impacted structural elements for
appropriate modifications and retrofit to meet current code requirements. This shall be done prior to the modification of any
elements of the framing systems.
