To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Armando Tena, and I am a Superintendent at Gould Construction. I have lived
and worked in the Roaring Fork Valley for the past 25 years, and I am writing in strong
support of the Harvest Roaring Fork project.
I started my career at Gould Construction as a laborer. Through hard work, mentorship, and
the growth opportunities available within our company, I progressed into the role of
Superintendent. I am proud of that journey, and it reflects what makes this valley special,
opportunity for those willing to put in the effort.
However, over the years, I have witnessed a growing challenge that continues to impact not
only me personally but also many of my coworkers: housing affordability. While career
advancement and wage growth are possible in our industry, even with promotions and
increased salaries, it is still not enough to comfortably live and sustain a life in this valley.
Time and again, the barrier we run up against is the cost of housing. I have seen talented
workers leave the area, commute long distances, or struggle to find stable living situations
despite doing everything right, working hard, building skills, and advancing in their careers.
The opportunities for professional growth are here, but the ability to remain and build a
Long-term life here is increasingly limited by the lack of attainable housing.
Harvest Roaring Fork represents a meaningful step toward addressing this challenge. By
creating attainable and deed -restricted housing for full-time local workers, this project
supports the very people who help build and sustain this community.
After 25 years in the Roaring Fork Valley, I want to see a future where those who commit to
working hard and building a career here can also afford to live here. I strongly encourage
support for the Harvest Roaring Fork project as an important investment in the working
class and the long-term strength of our valley.
Sincerely,
Armando Tena
